A new presentation on TrenchMOS switching and AC characteristics has been posted to our Power Devices application page.

We are proud to announce the third annual winner of a collaboration with Assistant Professor Can Bayram of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As part of this collaboration, students worked with Crosslight TCAD tools in an academic setting and the best project was selected for a prize. This year, an additional special prize was awarded due to the winning project’s timely relevance in the fight against COVID-19.

Congratulations to the 2020 winner of this award:

  • Brian Li for “A Sustainable, UV-LED Disinfection System for N95 masks in Haiti”

A new presentation on TCAD modeling of Si and SiC power devices has been posted to our Power Devices application page.

Announcing MaxMode Solver

Crosslight is proud to announce a new upcoming stand-alone solver for electromagnetic applications. A demonstration of the tool’s capabilities may be found on our Advanced Physics application page.

New TFT Presentations

Two new TFT presentations have been posted to our Misc. Microelectronics page. The first deals with bending effects while the second covers the effects of traps on hysteresis.

New IGBT Application Note

A new application note on insulated-gate bipolar transistors has been submitted by our collaborator, Dr. Gary Dolny. Sample input files are included on the main power device application page for interested users.

New Microlens VCSEL Presentation

A new presentation on microlens VCSEL has been uploaded to the Laser Diode application page.

New Micro-LED Presentation

A new presentation on InGaN Micro-LEDs has been uploaded to the LED application page.

v2019 Release Announcement

Crosslight is proud to announce new features & milestones for its upcoming v2019 release:

  • Improved speed of 2.5D and 3D vectorial microcavity solvers
  • Updated vectorial propagation model to support tapers in edge devices and 3D micro-lenses in microcavity vertical emitters
  • New modal Near Field to Far-Field (NF-FF) transformation based on full vectorial field analysis
  • Demonstration of fully-coupled optical simulation for a small VCSEL array (2×2 and 1×2)
  • New Color gamut plot based on calculated LED spectrum
  • New modern GUI based on Chromium and Node.js technologies
  • Improved Design of Experiments features in GUI: this new “AutoTCAD” feature replaces the old “Series” interface in SimuCenter
  • Improved material grading definition scheme for structures with repeated layers
  • Improved edge bending scheme in layer files
  • New AM modulation plot for lasers

This version will be released later this year, after final testing has been completed. Customers with an up-to-date maintenance contract can contact their local sales representatives if they wish to try these new features right away.

A new application note on Silicon Superjunction MOSFET has been submitted by our collaborator, Dr. Gary Dolny. Sample input files are included on the main power device application page for interested users.
